Rise up

The earth is shaken every day,
full of fear in every way.
Wondering, crying, searching for hope,
doubting, fighting, misery's woe.
Time stands still like a frightened doe,
everything seems so out of control.

Then, out of nowhere, a boy goes to console,
a woman, her children; alone in the cold.
All of a sudden the world's not so bold,
maybe there is a place for those all alone.
How, after all, can you condone,
a child who feels weakened,
before they are old.
