The only thing

The rainbow makes me cry,
when I see it in the sky.
Because a rainbow make the world look brand new,
It's the only thing it can do.

It rises on the line of a battlefield's morning,
lights the damaged houses from a mass flood warning.
Creeps onto the page of a bed time story,
healing all the lives in the past years' warring.

The rainbow makes me cry,
when it spreads across the sky.
Because a rainbow's the light of nature,
bringing hope when there is danger.

It summons all the trees to awaken slowly,
telling them the rain washed away their children.
Comes into the eyes of an abandoned kitten,
left out in the storm in an old worn mitten.

The rainbow makes me cry,
when it fades out of the sky.
Because the rain cleans the world of wrong things,
the rainbow says it's ending.

The rainbow makes me cry,
I tried to tell you why.

The wicked ends in violence,
then the lovely in the silence.

Generation Travesty (lyrics)

{Verse one}

They say paparazzi is the only news to watch for,
yeah, mtv's real great.
We don't know how to define the function of equations,
what do we need it for, anyway?

Cause' we're like an epizootic zoo,
headed for a catastrophic failure,
feeding off the hard-up sums of our parents' early days.

(Chorus)

So you think we're dumb?
You got no place to run?
The washed-out victims of a big decay?

No don't you pity us,
why not envision us,
with the money that you all threw away.

It was all about the tragedy which is nothing short of travesty.
It's always an emergency and now we're paying for your urgency.

{Verse two}

Bigger is better even when you cannot pay for,
the mixed messages they play.
I can't recall who caused the atom bomb explosion,
but since you were there..why..ask..me?

Cause' we're like an iron warship and we won't let no one in,
shooting down the free love the hippies worked so hard to win.

Neurotic, we can spell what you've been.
Global warning, the future you parade.
Kids, why can't you let us be.
Instead of living all your dreams, the red herring of population me.

(Chorus)

So you think we're dumb?
You got not place to run?
The washed-out victims of a big decay?

No don't you pity us,
why not envision us,
with the money that you all threw away.

It was all about the tragedy which is nothing short of travesty.
It's always an emergency and now we're paying for your urgency.

(Chorus repeat)

Instead of living all your dreams, the red herring of population me.

Silent beat

This heart will break for nothing more than a screaming seagull on the shore.
This heart won't even skip a beat when talk of death turns on my street.
I don't feel anything for the mourner,
all dressed in black and in the corner.

Wake me up, I feel the heartless beat.
Put me down, the soulless should not be free.

The moon howls while the dog soars proud,
backwards drifts a cry less sound.

Push me out, my emotion never is,
pull me in, alone I'll never win.
Take it all, remove my sin.

This heart untouched can never rush to be something they call complete.
This heart inside will find the time for tearing down this world of mine.

There is no sympathetic grace,
for saddened tales of loss and fate.

The moon howls while the dog soars proud.
I wear the frown that's upside down on the coldest day to wear a grin.

Take it all, remove my sin.

Rise up

The earth is shaken every day,
full of fear in every way.
Wondering, crying, searching for hope,
doubting, fighting, misery's woe.
Time stands still like a frightened doe,
everything seems so out of control.

Then, out of nowhere, a boy goes to console,
a woman, her children; alone in the cold.
All of a sudden the world's not so bold,
maybe there is a place for those all alone.
How, after all, can you condone,
a child who feels weakened,
before they are old.

Lincoln's going home (lyrics)

{Verse one}

Step off the scuffed up soap box,
turn down the t.v. scene.
You're not the only one who wants to be the brand new thing.

Forget these burned-out tantrums,
the fight of petty queens.
Absorb the disillusion; no one wants to hear you sing!

(Chorus)

Cause' there's no spotlight for the overrated,
the sold-out tickets won't be for your show.
People don't spend Lincoln to get cheated,
and baby, that is all you've ever known.

Now Lincoln's going home.

{Verse two}

Pack up the microphone and dry,
the watered eyes you had to buy (don't lie).
Alienated values keep you company,
created by the image drama brings.

Flowers dried out in your boudoir,
a museum for that dream.
Already floundering in your stardom,
such is an imaginary thing.

(Chorus)

Cause' there's no spotlight for the overrated,
the sold-out tickets won't be for your show.
People don't spend Lincoln to get cheated,
and baby, that is all you've ever known.

Now Lincoln's going home.

{Bridge}

Oh, the easier that you can make it is the less time that we'll have to fake it.
Charity only runs so deep for a two-faced cheat wearing pawned diamond rings.
Oh didn't you think we'd know...the only thing you can't steal is the show!

(Chorus)

Cause' there's no spotlight for the overrated,
the sold-out tickets won't be for your show.
People don't spend Lincoln to get cheated,
and baby, that is all you've ever known.

Baby that is all you've ever known,
now Lincoln's going home.

Untitled

A crescent spark high in the sky,
is simply a fragment of the doom behind.
Behind dark layers of tranquil sleep,
stares a malice; so smooth, so sleek.
It laughs a bit with star-lit eyes,
at foolish lovers and passer-bys.
You see, they glance up to the night,
and think how lovely, it is, that shine.
It looks so humble, so meek and gay,
it's a joyous occasion to see such an array.
The moon just smile to herself,
up in her tower, away from all else.
She knows what power is beneath her shell,
fully exposed and she's suddenly hell.
So a full moon fearlessly waits,
underneath her covers for another day.

In the stillness

Silence, freedom, time to just be.
Endearing, peaceful, resolution is the key.
It's not something we cherish or even confess,
But being alone is what we do best.

To be our true selves when no one is near,
To replay each message from friends whom are dear.

Thinking, wishing, hoping to be,
A person to admire, for people to see.

I would

If I could stroll inside that world,
a world that always snows,
and it's never cold.

If I could kiss the sun-swept trees,
and never care to go,
not at all controlled.

I would.

There's a beacon high,
lights up the sky,
timbered leaves and cobbled streets,
that is where I wish to be.

If I could hold the world in my hands,
and be in a hand,
securely manned.

If I could thrill a child after,
something they can't seem to chapter,
and bring on laughter.

I would.

I would float in a clear faced globe,
shaken high, shaken low.
I'd take it all to say I'm home,
in a tiny little globe,
where everything is beautiful,
and no one feels alone.

Solitary (lyrics)

{Verse one}

Time is a solitary thing,
It would keep on changing if there was no one left listening.
A tree that stands alone,
Leaves the forest echoing as it falls to the ground.
So when you leave me on the floor,
I can feel your goodbyes even if I don't hear a sound.

[chorus]

Oh, what makes you think you can leave me here, and take it all away?
That I'd wait for you a thousand years, until you called my name?

Oh, that I'd sympathize and empathize, with everything you say?
What makes you feel so much good inside, every time you lie?
To me. You lie to me.

{Verse two}

Returns are often best unsaid,
New branches cannot form if the tree itself is dead.
Time will not stop for you and I,
My roots are closed to you and they'll plant themselves instead.
As I drink all the others dry,
The tree cries rivers back to make itself feel alive.

[Chorus]

Oh, what makes you think you can leave me here, and take it all away?
That I'd wait for you a thousand years, until you called my name?

Oh, that I'd sympathize and empathize, with everything you say?
What makes you feel so much good inside, every time you lie?
To me.  You lie to me.

{Verse three}

You never helped me as I grew,
And so I grew in spite of you.
You made me out to be deformed,
And actuality is torn.

I had so many buds unborn,
But bloomed through ashes they are more.
I wanted you to see them too,
But then they burned because of you.

[Chorus]

Oh, what makes you think you can leave me here, and take it all away?
That I'd wait for you a thousand years, until you called my name?

Oh, that I'd sympathize and empathize, with everything you say?
What makes you feel so much good inside, every time you lie?
You lie to me, you lie to me, ye-ah.

Time is a solitary thing,
It keeps on changing though no one is listening.

Petersburg

I saw a man in Petersburg,
They say he's so delighting!
And even though I did not show,
He really is inviting!

I met a man in Petersburg,
I felt like I was gliding!
He taught me how to sing and dance,
Romantic was I finding.

I knew a man in Petersburg,
Who put my heart in hiding!
He broke my soul endowed with woe,
Forever is it biding.

There is a man in Petersburg,
They say he's slowing dying!
And even though I will not go,
I cannot help my crying.

Pandora

Subtly, it invades,
yet still shrieking through your veins.
Ribbons in tensioned knots up into that very box.
It knocks; and knocks again.
Pandering across the mar rowed walk,
pining for ways to open the lock.
It only needs one, just one.
A sound spirals through the drum,
shakes the hairs to make a hum.
That sounds springs panic to the heart.
There it is, open up.
The clasp is wrought, the iron popped,
flying out so that the mind is slopped.
All that wasn’t should be caught.
Too late, it’s not.
